Where Technique Meets Fun, and Anyone Can Learn to Dance! Meet Our Instructors
Yvette Corvo Misner Director / Teacher / Choreographer Yvette Corvo Misner is a graduate of the University of Cailfornia, Irvine, receiving a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Dance. She has been dancing non-stop since her first Tap class in 1983 and became a full-time teacher and choreographer in 1996. Yvette's training includes Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Modern, Bellydance, Hip-Hop, and Musical Theater with a smidgen of African, Ballet Folkloric, and Ballroom. Over the years, she has had the pleasure of working with students ranging from age 2.5 through 70+, at all levels of ability. She has choreographed musicals for students of Woodland High School, Douglas Junior High School, Woodland Community College and Pioneer High School. In addition, a couple of her favorite choreography projects include working with the Woodland High School Showchoir for three years and working with the children of the Yolo Stage Company since 2003. Yvette is a Woodland native - born and raised - she is a wife, and a Mom with a wonderful 8-year-old daughter. Not that she gets the chance very often, but, when given the chance, she enjoys curling up with a good detective story and a cup of hot chocolate!
Anja Dingman Administration / Teacher / Choreographer Anja Dingman started taking ballet, tap, and tumbling lessons with Sylvia Halk when she was 3 and fell in love with the performing arts. In 4th grade she started studying cello and continued both music and dance throughout school. She has performed with many dance groups in the U.S. and Ireland, including: Sylvia Halk's Dance for Kids, Applegate Dance Company, Momentum Dance Company, Bohemian Bellies, Dynamic Dancing with Yvette, University College Cork Dance Club, and Columbia College Dance Company. Her primary focus during adolescence was in ballet technique, however she has also had experience in tap, jazz, contemporary, belly dance, West African, Irish step, ballroom, and Latin styles. She graduated magna cum laude from Columbia College with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance Education and a Music Performance minor. Anja has been a professional member of the National Dance Education Organization (NDEO) since 2013. Anja has a passion for advocating quality arts education in schools and particularly enjoys combining visual, performing, language, and technological arts to enhance students' learning experience. She specializes in using creative movement practices to develop students' self-confidence and 21st Century skills, particularly at the elementary grade levels.
